2016 GMC Sierra Engine and Price

New 2016 GMC Sierra is the next generation of GMC’s well-known pickup truck that is expected to surpass the success of its predecessor and boost the sales.

We will not see any huge changes on the new model but there will definitely be some nice updates and improvements that will make the new model even more attractive than the previous generation. From the outside, new Sierra will look more aggressive and modern. Some of the changes that will be visible on the exterior will include a new grille and new LED rear fog lights. The cabin of the new 2016 GMC Sierra will be luxurious and spacious. GMC will also incorporate a lot of high-tech features such as 8-inch touch screen, wireless connectivity, satellite radio, climate control, cruise control, and a lot more features that will make the new model more user-friendly.

2016 GMC SIERRA ENGINE

When it comes to the engine of the new 2016 GMC Sierra, there will be a few options offered. Base model will be equipped with the same engine that is under the hood of GMC Silverado. This will be a 4.3-liter V6 engine that will be able to produce 285 horsepower and around 308 lb-ft of torque. It will be paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Second option will be a 5.3-liter V8 engine that will deliver 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Another possible option will be a 6.2-liter V8 engine that will be capable of producing 420 horsepower and up to 460 lb-ft of torque. Both of these engines will come with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Diesel version of the new Sierra is likely to remain the same. This will be a 6.6-liter Duramax V8 engine that will deliver 420 horsepower and 800 lb-ft of torque.

RELEASE DATE AND EXPECTED PRICE

GMC has not yet announced the release date of the new 2016 GMC Sierra but we can expect to see the new model on the market either at the end of 2015 or at the beginning of 2016. The price for the base model will most likely remain the same. This means that the starting price will be around $28,000, while the price for the higher trim levels will go up to $60,000.
