2016 Honda Pilot Release Date and Changes

Honda is giving its well-known SUV a well-deserved update. 2016 Honda Pilot is going to be bigger, better and more powerful version of its predecessors.


One of the many improvements will be the new platform of this medium size SUV. 2016 Honda Pilot will share its platform with the Acura MDX. Next to the same platform, Pilot and MDX will have many similar features. However, Pilot is promised to deliver a unique design. Shape of the new Pilot is redesigned to be larger and curvier. In the making of their new car, Honda uses lightweight materials such as aluminum. On the front of the vehicle there will be many noticeable changes. Redesigned grill and bigger bumper will be accompanied with high quality LED headlights. Bigger size will also influence the interior of the new Honda. With more space inside of the cabin and more cargo space, comfort will not be compromised. New Pilot will have 3 rows of high quality leather seats that will be able to comfortably accommodate up to eight passengers. Pilot will feature some of the latest technology improvements. Some of the new features will include LCD screen, new audio devices, navigation system, USB ports, climate control and cruise control.

New Honda will come with only one engine option. This will be a 3.5 liter V6 engine that will be able to generate 290 horsepower and up to 266 lb-ft of torque. The new 2016 Honda Pilot will be run on a 6-speed automatic transmission. Next to the front wheel drive, we will be presented with an all-wheel drive system as well. The fuel economy of the new SUV may not be as good as the one of its turbocharged competitors, but the use of the lightweight materials will significantly help.

Although the release date of the 2016 Honda Pilot was initially reserved for the fall of 2015, it has been postponed for 2016. The price is still not determined but, according to some predictions based on the previous model, it should start at around $31,000 for the base model, up to the $43,000 for higher trim level.
