Kia is putting a lot of effort into improving the next generation of their famous model. New 2016 Kia Optima is coming to the market with high expectations.
EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR
New Optima is coming refreshed, with innovative and attractive design. The most noticeable change on the exterior will be a redesigned tiger nose grille. Other changes that will be visible from the outside of the new model include a redesigned hood, new front bumper and revised taillights. Headlights will be equipped with the LED technology and will give the vehicle a more aggressive look. Wheel size will range from 16 inches to 18 inches. Compared to its predecessor, new 2016 Kia Optima will be longer, lighter and will have better handling. Increase in length will contribute to more space inside the cabin. Depending on the trim level, seats will be covered in either cloth, leather, or high-quality Nappa leather. New Optima comes with an 8-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, wireless connectivity, smart cruise control, lane departure warning system, blind spot detection, and many more great technological features.
2016 KIA OPTIMA ENGINE
Kia will offer three engine options with their new model. The first option will be a 2.4-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine that will be able to produce 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. New 2016 Kia Optima equipped with this engine will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 8.5 seconds and reach the top speed of 152 mph. Another option will be a 2.0-liter turbo engine that will be capable of delivering 247 horsepower and up to 260 lb-ft of torque. The third option is a 1.6-liter engine that will produce 178 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The first two engines will be paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, while the last engine will come with a 7-speed double-clutch transmission system.
RELEASE DATE AND EXPECTED PRICE
New model is expected to hit the market either at the end of 2015 or at the beginning of 2016. When it comes to the price of the new 2016 Kia Optima, it will not be too much higher than the price of the previous generation. The starting price is estimated to be around $22,500.
