Exterior improvements are noticeable on the first glance. Front of the vehicle is implemented with a split wing grille which gives the appearance of a more powerful and sturdy look. The outgoing vertical slats frame the headlight system which is powered with the latest LED technology. With the taillight arrangement and chrome accents, back of this MKX’s crossover matches the elegant yet dominant appearance.The wheel size is expected to be between 18 and 22 inches. The interior, with itsfresh and quiet feel, is not lacking the looks either. With aluminum and leather materials spread throughout the cabin, more buttons and knobs on the center stack, the new Lincoln will provide more enjoyable experience for its users. The 2016 Lincoln MKX brings a few completely new luxury features. A new auto-hold releases the brakes once the gas pedal is depressed, which makes handling everyday traffic a lot easier. Some of the other new features include adaptive steering and a high-end premium Revel audio system.
Engine types and performances
When it comes to the mechanical hardware under the new 2016 Lincoln MKX, it is probable that there will be two engine options available. Next to the standard 3.7-liter V6 engine, Lincoln Motor Company is bringing up twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. The latter one delivers more than 330 horsepower and more than 370 lb-ft of torque. Both of the engines will be attached to a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive comes as a standard, however, all-wheel drivewill come as an option as well. With all of the improved specifications, new MKX is promised to deliver a great ride quality and comfort.
Release date and expected price
2016 Lincoln MKX is expected to hit the US market in the fall of 2015, and shortly after appear on the other world markets including China, Canada, the Middle East, Mexico, and South Korea. The price range is still unknown, but is predicted to be anywhere from $32,000 for a base model, to $38,000 for higher trim levels.
