New vehicle from Nissan is almost ready to join the market of eco-friendly cars. 2016 Nissan Leaf will combine modern design with great performance.

CHANGES AND IMPROVEMENTS

New Leaf will come redesigned, with a lot of updates and features that will make this car worth considering if you are in the market for new electric car. Nissan will offer three trim levels with the new Leaf: S, SV and SL. It will be made of lightweight materials such as aluminum, which will improve the overall performance. From the outside, new model will look refreshed and stylish. Front side will feature Nissan’s recognizable V-shaped chrome grille. Headlights and taillights will be equipped with LED technology. New Leaf will use the set of 18-inch alloy wheels. The attractive appearance will be continued to the interior of the new 2016 Nissan Leaf. The cabin will be able to comfortably accommodate up to five passengers. Both front and back seats will offer heating options. Nissan will include a lot of high-tech features such as Bluetooth, LCD screen, cruise control and anti-lock brakes.

2016 NISSAN LEAF ENGINE

Green cars are becoming more and more popular worldwide, and Nissan is definitely taking important steps towards preserving the environment. New 2016 Nissan Leaf will come with two engine options. First one will be 80 kW AC synchronous electric engine that will be able to deliver around 110 horsepower and up to 210 lb-ft of torque. It will use 24 kWh lithium-ion battery that will allow the vehicle to travel up to 125 miles. This engine will come with a base model. Other engine will be capable of generating up to 180 horsepower. It will also have better battery life and will be able to travel around 186 miles. This will certainly be an improvement from the previous model.

RELEASE DATE AND EXPECTED PRICE

When it comes to the official release date of the new 2016 Nissan Leaf, it is still unknown. However, we can probably expect to see this compact electric car on the market sometimes in the second half of 2016. We will most likely see a slight increase in price from the previous model. According to the rumors it should be in the range of $30,000 to $36,000.
