Toyota will offer two engine options with their new 2016 Toyota Highlander. The first option will be a 3.5-liter V6 that will be capable of generating 270 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque. The second option will be a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine that will be able to produce 185 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. These two engines will be paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission system. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive systems will be offered. Toyota will most likely offer a hybrid version of their new model as well. Fuel ratings for the new Highlander with a 3.5-liter engine and a front-wheel drive system will be at 19 mpg for the city drive and 21 mpg on the highway, while for the all-wheel drive it will be at 18 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. Highlander equipped with a 2.7-liter engine will come with fuel ratings at 20 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.
