2017 BMW X5 – Release Date, Redesign, Changes

Another generation of BMW’s luxury crossover is under production. With stylish look and a comfortable cabin, 2017 BMW X5 will be at the top of its class.


New 2017 BMW X5 is coming with a number of smaller changes which will give it a more modern and sportier appearance. Due to the use of the lightweight materials such as aluminum, carbon fiber and steel, the weight of the vehicle will be considerably lower. Therefore fuel efficiency and the overall performance will also be improved. Both 20-inch and 21-inch alloy wheels will be available. Headlights and taillights will be equipped with the LED technology and will feature a redesigned, more stylish look. The cabin will be able to accommodate up to five passengers. It will be equipped with technological features such as a 10.2-inch display, Bluetooth connectivity, Wi-Fi connectivity, voice control, dual-zone automatic climate control, and many more.

BMW will offer a few options for the engine of the new model, providing something for everyone. One of the choices will be a 3.0-liter V6 engine. It will be able to produce 300 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. Diesel version of this engine will deliver 255 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. It will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds. Most powerful engine in the lineup for the new 2017 BMW X5 will be a 4.4-liter V8 engine. It will be capable of producing 445 horsepower and up to 480 lb-ft of torque. This unit will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.6-seconds. These engines will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. New model will come with either a rear-wheel or a four-wheel drive system. Fuel efficiency is also expected to be high, which will put the new X5 even higher up in its class.

We still do not know the exact release date. However, the new 2017 BMW X5 is expected to be available around the middle of 2017. Comparing to the previous generation, price of the new model will be slightly higher. It will most likely start at $56,495 and go up from there for the higher trim levels.
